3rd FAO Transforms Fair

The FAO Transforms Fair seeks to highlight inspiring projects that have been carried out recently and that can be replicated and scaled up to other areas of Latin America and the Caribbean. The third event will be held on september 3 and 4 and willhighlight projects framed within FAO’s priority areas of improvement: Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment, and Better Life. In addition, initiatives that promote better institutional support within FAO will be presented as in previous years.

The transformations required by the region can only be carried out collaboratively. For this reason, this event seeks to highlight the relationship and joint work with different FAO resource partners. Some of those invited will be representatives of leading international cooperation funds and agencies to share their experience and commitment to sustainable development goals at the global level.

In the case of the Brazil-FAO International Cooperation, which also develops the RAES, it has produced a training n food and nutrition education in school feeding programmes with four countries (El Salvador, Honduras, Peru and Dominican Republic) and a document on the impacts of this training after 5 years in the countries, which will be recognised at the event as an inspiring experience. We will have the participation of a representative of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) of Brazil and a representative of the FAO to explain all the results of this important work.

This event will feature ten initiatives selected from more than 25 applications considered innovative, scalable, and representative of different countries in the region, with the support of various sponsors.

General objectives:
  • Highlight results and lessons learned from initiatives developed by FAO in Latin America and the Caribbean under FAO’s priority areas: Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment, and Better Life, together with improved institutional support.
  • To make FAO visible and strengthen its relationship with its resource partners in implementing initiatives that promote transformations in agrifood systems.
  • Promote the exchange of knowledge of outstanding projects, both within the Organization and with the general public, to accelerate progress towards the challenges of Sustainable Development.
