Event discusses Healthy School

Virtual seminar will be held on July 21 at 9 a.m. in Chile

The virtual event ‘Healthy School Food Environments – Seeking Policy and technical Coherence’will discuss the guarantee of a healthy school environment by providing healthy school feeding that meets nutrition standards and guidelines. It will also discuss how the supply of nutritious food options should be a priority for national and local governments to improve the quality of diets and support the Human Right to Adequate Food of children and adolescents.

The event will be held on July 21, at 9:00 a.m. in Chile, in English, and is an initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP).

The webinar will address the following aspects:

·The influence of the school food environment on students’ food practices.

·Targeted assessments, implementation and evaluation of key interventions to improve school food environments.

· The need for coherence between interventions to improve the nutrition quality and adequacy of school meals and those of foods sold or marketed in and around schools.
