Launch of the 2024 Global Survey Report on School Meal Programs

The Global Child Nutrition Foundation (GCNF) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) are thrilled to invite you to the official launch of the 2024 edition of the Global Survey Report, School Meal Programs Around the World. This hybrid event will take place on February 4th, 2025, online and in Washington, D.C.

School meal programs play a critical role in improving children’s nutrition, academic performance, and overall wellbeing. They also support food systems transformation by promoting access to healthy diets, equitable livelihoods, and environmental sustainability. However, reliable and comprehensive data on these programs have long been limited—until now.

The Global Survey of School Meal Programs provides the most extensive dataset to date, with information from 167 countries on school meal coverage, financing, food composition, policies, and more. Designed by GCNF with contributions from IFPRI and other global experts, this survey equips governments and stakeholders with the knowledge needed to make evidence-based decisions.

At the event, GCNF and IFPRI will present key findings from the 2022 school year, followed by a distinguished panel discussion on the implications for policy, research, advocacy, and program implementation. The full report will be released during the event, with highlights already available in multiple languages on the GCNF website.

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore how school meal programs are shaping the future of nutrition and food systems worldwide.
