In 2025, the Sustainable School Feeding Network (RAES) carried out an intensive agenda of activities, marked by the exchange of experiences, the production of capacity-building initiatives, participation in events, and efforts to strengthen school feeding programmes in Latin America and the Caribbean. To recall the main actions of this period and give visibility to the initiatives developed throughout the year, RAES produced this retrospective content.
1. RAES Exhibition reveals innovations transforming student nutrition across the region
During the event promoted by FAO, the Government of Brazil and RAES, 11 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean presented solutions that integrate technology, food and nutrition education, sustainability and community participation to strengthen school feeding programmes. Around 300 professionals from 20 countries took part.

2. RAES member countries discuss proposed regional agenda for school feeding
Sixteen countries discussed the RAES Network’s priorities for the next four years. Countries will have a period to review the document and submit comments and suggestions until January 26, 2026. The final agreed version will be presented at the next RAES meeting, scheduled for February 2026.

3. RAES participates in public policy forum in the Dominican Republic
RAES took part in events and high level meetings to discuss about school feeding.

4. RAES at the CFS: Countries debate partnerships and sustainable financing for school feeding
Brazil, Kenya and Sweden underlined the importance of partnerships and financing to strengthen school feeding programmes during the CFS annual meeting.

5. Over 1,600 participants from 14 countries complete training promoted by the Sustainable School Feeding Network
The “School Feeding in Focus” exchange cycle, promoted by FAO and the Government of Brazil, addressed the different components necessary to ensure the sustainability of school feeding.

6. Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean exchange experiences on school feeding programmes in the Amazon
Representatives from 15 Latin American and Caribbean countries took part in an international meeting in Manaus to learn about the challenges and opportunities of school feeding programmes in the Amazon, exchange experiences, and strengthen regional cooperation.

7. RAES member countries participate in the 2nd Summit of the School Meals Coalition in Fortaleza
The event was held in Fortaleza, Brazil, from September 18 to 19.

8. At the XI Regional School Feeding Forum, RAES is highlighted as a key strategy for strengthening school meals across the region
