Take part in the new global publication on pedagogical school gardens

Coordinated by ABC, FAO, through the project Regional Agenda for Sustainable School Feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and the Executive Secretariat of RAES, together with WFP (Center of Excellence Against Hunger in Brazil) and FNDE, a publication will be produced on pedagogical school gardens linked to school feeding programmes, presenting experiences from different regions of the world. Two of these experiences will be from Latin America and the Caribbean.

One distinctive feature of this publication is that we aim to showcase sustainable experiences, meaning school garden practices that endure, that withstand multiple variables such as climate change, changes in government management, school settings, and others. Additionally, we seek school gardens developed with broad participation from the school community.

We will highlight experiences of school gardens institutionally established within the framework of food and nutrition security, health, education, or agriculture policies of the countries.

In this regard, we are sharing this information to kindly request that you send us a message to the following emails: paulo.palmaberaldo@fao.org and analeticia.carvalho@fao.org applying and indicating your successful school garden experience in your country.

Since we will only select two experiences – one from Latin America and one from the Caribbean – for this document and have limited time for this, we will prioritize countries willing to respond immediately to this call.
We will provide all instructions for text submission, which will be one page and will showcase photographs of the activity, giving global prominence to your country.
