Video: Reflections on reducing food loss and waste in the context of school feeding

Throughout October, RAES is celebrating Food Month by sharing knowledge and experiences to strengthen school feeding programmes in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In the context of World Food Day, RAES continues to promote reflection on key issues for strengthening school feeding programmes in the region.

On this occasion, we share the presentation by Nicol Barahona, senior specialist in food loss and waste (FLW) policies at FAO in Latin America and the Caribbean. She addressed the challenges of reducing food loss and waste and the importance of the issue in the school environment during session 3 of the PAE en Foco 2025 exchange cycle.

Her presentation invites us to rethink strategies that allow us to make better use of resources and move towards more sustainable and inclusive food systems.
