RAES Meeting in Comayagua, Honduras, expands its reach across the media and governments of Latin America and the Caribbean<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comayagua, Honduras, August 31, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 The Meeting of the Sustainable School Feeding Network (RAES), held in Honduras, received broad coverage across the region\u2019s media. The event was covered by nearly 40 national and international media outlets, with news stories, interviews and reports highlighting the progress made and commitments undertaken by countries to strengthen school feeding programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visibility of the meeting also extended beyond the media. RAES content and messages were shared and echoed by government institutions and authorities from participating countries, expanding the reach of the regional agenda and strengthening its position within public policies on school feeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the opening session, the meeting brought together more than 150 participants, including the President of Honduras, Nasry Asfura; ministers, such as Fatima Juarez, of the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL); government authorities; representatives from 17 RAES member countries; international organizations; partner institutions; and media outlets from Honduras and other countries in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting in Comayagua was jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Government of Brazil, through the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC\/MRE) and the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE), with the Government of Honduras as host, through the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
