38 FAO Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean

On March 18, 2024, the 38 FAO Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean and ministerial level sessions, with the presence of the President of Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali, and the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), QU Dongyu.

The event will extend for four days and will be attended by government officials of the thirty-three FAO Member Nations, ministers of Agriculture and ministers of other sectors, the Holy See, organizations and specialized agencies of the United Nations System, intergovernmental organizations, civil society organizations, private sector organizations, academia and research institutions, parliamentarians, observers, and non-member countries.

The aim of the conference, which is also a formal forum, is for member states from the region to come together to discuss challenges and priority issues related to food and agriculture in order to promote regional coherence on global policy issues.
