The Sustainable School Feeding Network (RAES) will hold its 2026 In-Person Meeting in Honduras from 24 to 28 August, bringing together representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen the regional agenda for sustainable school feeding.
The meeting will serve as a strategic space for dialogue, cooperation, and the exchange of experiences among countries, with the aim of strengthening school feeding programmes and promoting more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agrifood systems. The event is not open to the public, and participants are representatives designated by the governments of the Network’s member countries.
This edition will focus on two main themes:
- Women farmers and public procurement from family farming, with an emphasis on promoting gender equality and strengthening rural development,
- The inclusion of fish in school feeding, highlighting its contribution to nutrition, food security, and income generation.
In addition, participants will have the opportunity to learn about local experiences in Honduras through institutional dialogues and field visits related to the National School Feeding Programme.
Meeting objectives
- Advance the planning of RAES follow-up actions,
- Promote the exchange of experiences, good practices, and lessons learned among member countries,
- Strengthen the regional agenda for sustainable school feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean,
- Learn from relevant local experiences and lessons from the Honduran context.
Target audience
The meeting will bring together RAES focal points and representatives from member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as representatives of RAES strategic partners. Participants will be designated by the governments of the member countries.
This meeting reaffirms RAES’ commitment to regional cooperation, capacity strengthening, and the promotion of public policies that ensure healthy, sustainable, and inclusive school feeding for children and adolescents across the region.
