Event will be held on October 1 as part of the celebrations of the World Food Day 2026.
Brasília, Brazil, July 1, 2026 – The Sustainable School Feeding Network (RAES) brought together focal points from its 18 member countries to discuss the Network’s upcoming activities, particularly the in-person meeting and the II RAES Exhibition.
One of the main topics addressed during the virtual meeting was the preparation for the upcoming RAES in-person meeting, which will take place in Comayagua, Honduras, from August 24 to 28. Participants received details about the agenda for the event in Honduras, expected outcomes, and logistical information.
The meeting will bring together authorities and representatives from member countries to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge and to advance the implementation of the RAES Regional Agenda: For Sustainable School Feeding in Latin America and the Caribbean 2026–2030.
II RAES Exhibition: experiences and solutions for sustainable school feeding
As part of its upcoming activities, RAES launched a call for expressions of interest to participate in the II RAES Showcase, under the theme “RAES Regional Agenda (2026–2030): initiatives and solutions to advance sustainable school feeding.”
The initiative aims to showcase experiences, practices, and initiatives developed by countries to strengthen school feeding policies and programmes. This year, the Showcase will take place in October as part of the activities commemorating World Food Day.
The objective of the II RAES Exhibition is to share initiatives and solutions implemented by countries to advance the priority areas defined in the RAES Regional Agenda, promoting the exchange of knowledge and learning among members of the Network.
Timeline and participation
Countries interested in participating must confirm their participation by August 14 and select one of the proposed topics to present their experience:
- Healthy diets;
- Management and governance;
- Food, nutrition and environmental education;
- Public procurement from family farming;
- Regulatory frameworks;
- Financing; and
- Monitoring and evaluation.
Selected experiences will be presented through videos of up to 3 minutes, which must be submitted by September 8.
The initiative reinforces one of RAES’ main objectives: to connect countries, share knowledge, and turn experiences into opportunities for learning and regional cooperation, contributing to the strengthening of more sustainable and inclusive school feeding policies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
